The Lost Sparrow
Lost Sparrow will be featured in the Fall 2010 lineup of PBS's Emmy Award-winning series Independent Lens. The national broadcast is scheduled for Nov. 16, 2010, and will be Lost Sparrow's television premier.
Independent Lens Series Producer Lois Vossen unveiled the Fall slate on Thursday at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Los Angeles. She said the upcoming season will feature "a unique and diverse group of documentaries that explores art, faith, politics, justice and more."
“We’re very pleased to present Lost Sparrow on the new 2010-11 season of Independent Lens,” Vossen said. “Chris Billing has made a compelling and occasionally chilling documentary that unearths the secrets of one family while also looking at the issue of interracial adoption. What makes the film all the more effective is that the family in question is his own, and he shares this very difficult, personal story without bias. His decision to understand why his two adopted brothers died on a train track 30 years ago becomes a powerful exploration on reconciliation, forgiveness and family.”
